HomeCooker NeXt
Creative lead / Product designer
I headed up the design teams on four groundbreaking digital consumer innovations that allowed customers to communicate with their gadgets using smart devices. The designs were launched to critical acclaim with press coverage in a variety of tech publications including Digital Trends and CNET. The Wi-Fi enabled HomeCooker NeXt was first shown in concept form at IFA 2013.
Brief : Philips wanted a proposal for ideas on how the product could be connected and improved, to make healthy cooking easier for busy parents.
Approach : I oversaw the design process for the end-to-end product, from concept to prototype working with the UX team and Philips product team. The USP of the HomeCooker NeXt is that it stirs itself. We created an App featuring digital recipes that communicated directly with the HomeCooker, instructing the app to prompt users giving them the freedom to leave their kitchens. It also allowed for users to share their creations through social media. I set the art direction for the easy-to-follow User Interface and food photography shoot with Jamie Oliver illustrating the ingredients and cooking steps. And we tested the prototype with physical products.
